Stalking and Professional Brights

So back at the beginning of February, New York and Company (one of my most favorite stores ever) started emailing pictures of great Valentine pieces. They had pictures of this beautiful raspberry colored suit in the email. I couldn’t find it online or in stores. I looked at stalked the website everyday until it finally showed up available for purchase.  So I convinced the hubs to go to the mall with me and purchased it after making sure it fit well.

The Hubs told me that the outfit was very LOUD, but that he liked it. I had planned to wear it last week and I was meeting some people for work that I have never met before, so I felt like it might be too much for that occasion. Today though, I was working with people that I have known for a long time, so I felt comfortable trying out head to toe pink with them. I must admit that I got many many compliments on both the suit and the shoes today. I think a big part of the compliments came because while this outfit is very LOUD it is also very professional. It is cut well and made out of a great material.  I am so excited to now try wearing this in different ways. I will have to try both separates and remixing it with something other than black and gray.

Would you be brave enough to wear this bold of a color head to toe in a suit? Would this be office appropriate for your job?

Monday’s Outfit {2/13}

Last week was a very long week. This weekend was super busy. The Hubs left yesterday morning. This week is shaping up to be pretty darn busy as well. I just didn’t get around to posting yesterday. So here it is.

Suit – The Limited, Polka Dot Shirt – New York and Company, Jewelry – New York and Company, Belt – IDK, Shoes – Nine West via TJ Maxx

I loved how put together this outfit was and how easy to wear it was. I felt polished and comfortable all day. This is a great suit. I bought the matching skirt too – which makes it very versatile too. I think that you will be seeing me trying to remix this often.

What do you think? How would you remix this suit?

And I will leave you with a detail shot.

The Shoes That Started It All

Suit – The Limited, Blouse – The Limited, Polka Dot Tights – The Limited, Necklace – The Limited, Glasses – Calvin Klein

Shoes – Chinese Laundry via DSW

Today I want to introduce you to the shoes that started my style transformation! I have always been interested in clothing and shoes. I have tried to be stylish. But it wasn’t until I bought these shoes that I started to transform how I looked at clothing, putting together outfits, and found a true style that I call my own. While I am also constantly evolving and trying new things – my overall style could be described by these shoes.

They are my ABSOLUTE favorite color of green!

They are bold , yet have many classic qualities.

They add just the right amount of personality in any outfit pairing.

They are versatile. I can wear them to work, around town, to church, and on date night.

They are comfortable and chic –  my most favorite combination of clothing items.

These shoes = ❤ in my book!!

I also really love they turn a rather routine pale gray suit into a stylish outfit. They bring interest, match my blouse, and add a chic-ness to an outfit that could have been ordinary. The polka dot tights help too!

Happy Weekend everyone – I am looking forward to a few days off. Tomorrow I get a massage with one of my BFFs!!

New Job {well, newly promoted}

Today I started my new position!

Brown Tweed Suit – The Limited, Floral Blouse – The Limited, Pin – New York and Company, Necklace – gift from MIL, Shoes – Nine West, Watch – DKNY via TJ Maxx

So my new job is a lot more formal in dress then my old job. Today was my first day, and I am still trying to figure out the dress code. I envision that I will be wearing a lot more suits these days, but I vow to not let them be boring. I like how the floral blouse looked with the brown tweed. I also really love the details on this jacket. The belt and front pockets make me very happy!! I don’t love these shoes with this outfit, but I was moving boxes and books into my new office today and needed more utilitarian shoes than normal.

See you all tomorrow!
