#StyleMeMarch – Two Days in One

As I said yesterday, I switched my prompt days. Turns out that I qualified for both prompts today.

I wore two patterns together today AND I wore white with neutrals again!

I am still short on words these days. Here are the details.

#StyleMeMarch Neutrals & White {switching today and tomorrow’s prompts}

Today’s challenge was to wear two patterns together. Tomorrow’s challenge is to wear neutrals and white. I am switching it up!!

Jacket, blouse, and belt – The Limited, Pants – Express, Jewelry – New York and Company, Shoes – Banana Republic

So I haven’t talked much in detail about the work that I do. But events this week have been heartbreaking. I work for a school system and was a teacher leader at a particular school for about 5 years. In January, I was promoted to a central office job. Yesterday, a student at that school was murdered by her father in a murder – suicide. I am devastated. I don’t understand.

#StyleMeMarch – Parisian Inspired

Today’s inspiration in the Style Me March challenge was to wear something Parisian inspired.

The first thing that I thought about was wearing black and white stripes. I also have been wanting to try to do this to my hair.

I got my hair done today and my bangs are a little shorter than I would like but I still thought that I would be able to pull this off. In the mirror, I thought that I did ok. I am not so sure that it translated well in pictures.

I think that my hair is actually very distracting in these pictures, but I do really like how the pattern mixing turned out. I was staring in my closet for a long time trying to think about what else to pair with the stripes and saw this cardi. I love the large damask and the damask also seems very french to me – so I went with it. I didn’t feel like myself and was a little uncomfortable when I was leaving the house, but I think that really had to do with my hair than with the outfit.

We went to a friend’s house tonight for game night. I was in charge of desserts. This is what I brought!

**all made from scratch**

I am looking forward to tomorrow’s challenge.

The Winter Edition 10 Day Challenge {Day 2 – Monochrome}

For today’s rendition of the Winter Edition 10 Day Challenge hosted by Freckles in April – we are going monochrome!

Cardigan – Target, Lace Cami – New York and Company, Silky Blouse – New York and Company, Necklace – gift from MIL, Belt – New York and Company, Pants – Banana Republic, Shoes – Zinc via DSW

I usually stay safe and go black or just go monochromatic with only half of my body. Today I wanted to try cream/light brown. I really like how the different textures, and patterns added a lot of interest to my outfit even though it was monochrome.

I also loved that since I was wearing wool pants – they were lined with this silky material. So basically I had silky-ness touching all of me. AWESOME!!

I also really love love love these shoes. They have a cute wooden button detail. A fun chunky stacked wooden heel, and textured leather. They look awesome with a skirt or dress. I will have to showcase them soon.

Don’t forget to check out all of the other fun challenge participants. I was blown away yesterday with all the fun layering and have ideas of things that I want to try.
