Challenge: 1 Shirt, 7 Days {Day 4}

Well here we go… over half way there now!!

**Day1 ** Day 2** Day 3**

and today is Day 4!

Shirt – Old Navy, Dress – The Limited, Belt – New York and Company, Necklace – World Market, Boots – DSW, Nude Tights – KMart

Today is actually inspired by Thursday’s look. I knew that I wanted to wear this dress for the challenge when I bought it. I did feel a little dressed up cowgirl though with the boots. But I went with it anyways.

What do you think? Did I pull off the Thursday look today?

PS – sorry for the shortness of words lately. It has been a long week and I cannot wait for it to be the weekend!!! Yay for a long weekend.

Challenge: 1 Shirt, 7 Days {D3}

So, I started this challenge quite a while ago. I have been slacking. I have had a lot going on in my life. Ok – I have been slacking.

Day 1 – Tuesday’s Look

Day 2 – Friday’s Look

Today I bring you Day 3 – Sunday’s look. I actually wore this yesterday {Tuesday} but started feeling sick last night. I didn’t go to work today and I know that you don’t really want to see me in my pjs.

Challenge shirt – Old Navy, Sweater – Target, Skirt – J Crew outlet, Shoes – Nine West, Flower pin – New York and Company, Jewelry – The Limited, Tights – KMart

Inspiration Photo

You may have noticed that I went with a much looser inpretation this time. I felt like the bright skirt and flower conveyed the feeling of this look really well. What do you think? Can you see the inspiration?

I also got my eyebrows waxed yesterday. It is my most favorite/neccessary beauty routine. What about you? What do you absolutely love/ need having done?

PS – Pedicures are a close second.

Check out those perfectly groomed eyebrows.

Don’t mind the fact that I look super tired here. It was a long day at work and  was starting to not feel well at all.

Also – don’t you love the little splash of pattern mixing?

Simplicity

So my bosses are on a retreat for three days this week. That means that I can dress a little more casually. I went with a simple outfit of black/gray with pops of red.

Turtleneck – KMart, Scarf – (belongs to the Hubs – but I have been wearing it a lot lately), Belt – TJ Maxx, Pants – Eddie Bauer, Shoes – Liz Claiborne via TJ Maxx

I love how monochromatic this feels even though I brought in the bright pops of red. The layers played well together. I didn’t get these pants hemmed because with 90% of my shoes they are the perfect length. My knee has been acting up though, so I went with a shorter heel. I was comfortable and didn’t step on my pants today, but this picture makes it look like I could be stepping on my hems. Oh well. 🙂

This week is going to start out slow and end really busy. I am not sure how I feel about that – but I rested up this weekend.

A closer look at the details.

It felt a little weird to pick whatever I wanted out of the closet this morning. I really enjoyed the challenge from the last two weeks. Anyone else missing the prompts as they got dressed today?

Also – what do you think of the detail shots – should I keep doing them?

See you all tomorrow! Thanks again for reading and commenting – it has been great to be a part of this community.

Now on to Day 9 – can you believe that it is Day 9 already??

Today was a group Open to Interpretation & here was our inspiration.

I did a color reverse and also wore nude shoes.

Jacket – Elle via Kohls, Necklace and Earrings – Target, Shirt – Express, Skirt – Target, Tights – KMart, Shoes – Nine West

Although – most of the day I was jacket-less – so this is what it looked like.

Here is a look at the details.

I really like how the outfit looks minus the jacket. Which look do you prefer?

My Weekend Uniform

Like so many people that I know, I have a weekend uniform. In the winter, my weekend go to outfit is jeans, boots, a sweater, and a scarf. So here is a very neutral version of my uniform.

Black turtleneck – KMart, Black Sweater – Kohls, Belt – American Eagle circa 1999, Jeans – Old Navy, Boots – Steve Madden, Scarf – the Hubs

It is getting cold out there, so I added an extra layer today, but I really wanted to just be wearing a simple black sweater turtleneck. I don’t have one, so I made a faux one out of a turtleneck and a v-neck sweater.

Sorry, my belly is showing. I pulled up my sweater a little to see my belt. Oh well!!!

Today we went carpet shopping. We also stopped by Home Goods because we are trying to finish my crafting/girl space in our finished attic. I was looking for lamps. I found two GREAT ones. And I also found the chair that will be the color inspiration for my room. The hubs got it for me for my birthday. I can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow!
